Weehawken, N.J.—A ceremony was held to celebrate the opening of Hartz Mountain’s new Weehawken, N.J., community, Estuary on February 27. Weehawken Mayor Richard F. Turner was on hand, along with principals of Hartz Mountain and Roseland, and other municipal officials.
“Hartz has not just been a developer in Weehawken for the past 30 years, Hartz has been a partner in our efforts to revitalize the waterfront, making Lincoln Harbor a really special place to work, dine, stay and now live with the addition of Estuary,” Turner says. “We look forward to welcoming Estuary’s residents to our community.”
The 582-unit luxury community will be managed by Roseland, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mack-Cali. Roseland commissioned designer Alex Stark to incorporate Feng Shui elements into the design components of Estuary, which included unit layouts, the exterior landscaping and the orientation and materials used in common areas.
Estuary, which was built in accordance with the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED standards, will offer studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom residences with a rent range of $1,740 to $5,185. In-unit special features include European-style cabinetry and built-in surround-sound speakers. Other design elements include floor-to-ceiling windows, chestnut hardwood floors, granite countertops, porcelain tile floors and marble vanities in the bathrooms. The stainless steel kitchen appliances are Energy Star rated and each unit includes full sized washer and dryers, as well as individual climate control and alarm systems.
The amenities package doesn’t skimp either. Two of the community’s three buildings will vaunt expansive outdoor pool decks that overlook the Hudson River and Midtown Manhattan skyline. Those decks will feature cabanas, day beds, fireplaces and hot tubs. Other shared outdoor community areas include a bocce court, dog run, outdoor billiards table, barbecue grills and a children’s playground.
On the inside, the community offers a club room and addition billiard room, a package room, cold storage, a fitness center, a yoga room with virtual fitness classes, a media lounge, theater room, a golf simulator. The property also features a 24-hour concierge service, covered parking garage and complementary WiFi access common areas.
“We are proud to continue to bring our development work on the waterfront, bringing state-of-the-art amenities and new residents to Weehawken,” says Carl Goldberg, co-president of Roseland. “All of us — Hartz, Mack-Cali, and Roseland — are committed to the common goal of being partners with Weehawken and working for smart development.”
Estuary is located within the Lincoln Harbor mixed-use development and offers residents easy access to New York and New Jersey via busses and its own ferry and light rail stops. The proximity to the adjacent Lincoln Tunnel allows for convenient commutes to Manhattan. The development also has its own private marina. The walkable neighborhood features a host of restaurants, shopping and entertainment venues.
“Estuary at Lincoln Harbor has the best of everything that the waterfront has to offer renters-by-choice — luxury Gold Coast living with first class amenities, access to mass transportation, many dining options, a marina, a hotel and is within walking distance to Hoboken’s dining and entertainment,” says Emanuel Stern, President and COO of Hartz Mountain. “Lincoln Harbor has been an outstanding location for Hartz’ hotel, retail and office properties, and we are ecstatic to add the Estuary residential asset class to the development and appreciate all the support from the town and Mayor Turner.”
