Luxury Boutique-Size Multifamily Property Offers Unique Experience

Construction is under way on the Iron City Lofts project in downtown Birmingham, Ala.

Birmingham, Ala.—Construction is under way on the Iron City Lofts project in downtown Birmingham, Ala. The general contractor on the 67-unit urban infill development is Birmingham-based Doster Construction Company. The project’s boutique size, coupled with its luxury amenities, promise to provide city residents an option they have not experienced before in downtown Birmingham.

This project is one more example of Doster Construction Company’s ongoing expansion in downtown Birmingham. The company recently completed renovations of Children’s of Alabama Hospital. Kirklin Clinic and Baptist Medical Center Princeton, as well as construction of UAB’s Hill Student Center.

Iron City Lofts is being developed by KRE Development Holdings. Hendon + Huckestein Architects PC is the architect of record on the development.

Apartments in the elevator building will offer 10-foot-high ceilings, hardwood floors in dens and kitchens, granite countertops, central heating and air conditioning, spacious walk-in closets, large balconies, in-unit washer-dryers, Energy Star refrigerators and dishwashers and bedroom ceiling fans.

The apartment community will feature a number of resident amenities. They include an up-to-date fitness center, elevated pool and deck, urban leasing center and surface level parking. An upper deck lounge and gathering area on the top level will allow dramatic views of Pepper Place and the farmers market.

Additional amenities at Iron City Lofts include a yoga and pilates room, secure bicycle storage, six outlets for electric vehicle charging and high-speed wireless connections throughout the property.

Iron City Lofts enjoys an optimal location bridging the eclectic Lakeview district and Pepper Place. The Market at Pepper Place is the city’s most popular attraction in terms of attendees from early spring through the holiday season. It lures the finest Alabama grocers, food producers and artisans to Birmingham.

Leasing will commence in May, with construction scheduled to be complete by year’s end.
