Bethesda, Md.—The 25,000-square-foot site of a former auto service center at the corner of Wisconsin and Woodmont avenues in downtown Bethesda was replaced by a luxury apartment community developed by Washington Property Co.

Located at 7077 Woodmont Ave., the 12-story Solaire Bethesda kicked off in mid-2014 under architectural plans by Design Collective of Baltimore. The $60 million Class A rental building encompasses 122,050 square feet, offering 139 apartments in a combination of studios, one-, two- and three-bedroom units. Solaire Bethesda’s apartments vary in size between 606 square feet of living space for a studio and 1,400 square feet for a three-bedroom residence.

Data collected by Yardi Matrix indicates that monthly rents at the luxury property range between an estimated $2,071 for a studio and $6,255 for a three-bedroom unit. Residents have access to upscale amenities such as concierge services, 24-hour front desk, resort-inspired outdoor terrace with views of the city skyline, pet spa, onsite storage and fitness center. A resident lounge located on the fifth floor offers entertainment, a bar, gaming area and lounge seating. The building also features two stories of underground parking with 86 spaces, as well as 6,100 square feet of retail space that was already leased to a True Food Kitchen restaurant scheduled for opening in early 2017. Kettler is listed as property manager at Solaire Bethesda, according to Yardi Matrix.

“Solaire Bethesda sets a new standard for modern urban living in Bethesda,” said Daryl South, senior vice president, Washington Properties Co. “Our goal is to provide residents with not only an incredible apartment home in a premier location, but also with service and convenience that will make our residents’ lives a little bit less hectic so they can enjoy living in downtown Bethesda.”

Designed as a transit-oriented, mixed-use community, Solaire Bethesda is well situated within walking distance to the Bethesda Metro station and Purple Line light rail station, and just steps away from Bethesda Row—the city’s commercial corridor—that offers a variety of restaurants, art galleries, performance venues, parks, fitness centers and some of the best shopping destinations in the Washington, D.C. area.

This is Washington Properties’ third Solaire-branded luxury community in the Washington, D.C. area. In 2012, the company celebrated the grand opening of Solaire Silver Spring, followed by the opening of Solaire Wheaton two years later.
