Edison, N.J.–Leucos USA, an importer of high-end Italian lighting, has unveiled a new light that celebrates the upcoming spring. The new piece, called Solea, was designed by Javier Mariscal, a Valencian Spanish artist and designer who resides in Barcelona.

The wall/ceiling piece in composed of two overlapping, decorative panels made of handcrafted, rolled glass. Against a glowing glass diffuser, the panels emit a unique, subdued brilliance “like that of a half quarter moon,” according to Leucos.

The light, which is really more a work of art than a fixture, measures 26.8” x 25.6”. You can even mix up the combination of panels to fit your design scheme. The glass is available in grey/black and silk white/opaque white.

This piece might be most at home in a modern lobby or common area, though Solera would certainly add a unique touch to a furnished corporate apartment.
