the landing ofallonSeattle-based senior housing management company Leisure Care will operate a new assisted living and memory care community in the suburban St. Louis municipality of O’Fallon, Mo. The Landing of O’Fallon will open 13 miles from Leisure Care’s current independent living facility in St. Charles, Mo., Fairwinds – Rivers Edge.

The Landing of O’Fallon will provide 79 studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom assisted living apartments, in addition to 55 private and neighbor suites for memory care. By offering a combination of assisted living and memory care services, the new community will build on the services currently delivered at River’s Edge.

“The challenges we’ll face really center around building relationships in the area and solidifying The Landing of O’Fallon as a valued member of the greater community,” Leisure Care partner and executive vice executive Greg Clark told MHN.

A core aspect of that will be attracting the right people from the surrounding O’Fallon, St. Charles and St. Peters communities to help bring the character of the greater community to The Landing of O’Fallon.”

The company’s highest priority is locating exceptional area people who want to be part of the company’s mission of positively impacting the lives of others, he added. “Culture is extremely important to Leisure Care and we’ve introduced some great new leaders to The Landing of O’Fallon, but we will continue to build on that leadership in the coming months. Having positive, high-energy people is what creates a fun work atmosphere and allows staff to focus on doing great things for the seniors in the community. With more than 40 years of experience bringing quality and innovation—and fun—to our communities, we think we have a lot to offer to both residents and staff.”

Leisure Care has an extensive history of community involvement, Clark said. “We have been able to demonstrate this in the St. Charles community since 2005, and are looking forward to the opportunity to provide opportunities for people in O’Fallon,” he added.

Location will be a prime marketing tool for The Landing of O’Fallon. The community is convenient to high-quality health care, shopping centers, and the Mississippi River.

The Landing of O’Fallon will provide jobs to approximately 70 area residents. Many will transition from River’s Edge into fresh roles at the new community.

We’re really looking forward to opening O’Fallon and offering new services to seniors in St. Charles,” said Jim Ausmus, operations director for The Landing of O’Fallon.

Fairwinds – River’s Edge has been 100 percent occupied for the last four years, so it’s the right time for Leisure Care to expand and provide continuity and comfort for those who transition into assisted living . . . Our residents benefit most by living in a community that helps them thrive.”
