Lee & Associates has hired Fernando Polanco as senior vice president specializing in multifamily investment sales in the South Florida region.

Polanco, who is based in the commercial real estate brokerage’s Miami office, has closed more than $101 million in multifamily transactions totaling more than 1,000 units over the span of six years. His background also includes directing national marketing for a 57-asset, 17,000 unit portfolio throughout the southeastern U.S. as well as handling the successful sale of eight properties valued at more than $355 million.

Polanco previously worked in the investment sales group at Marcus & Millichap and as a director at Berkadia, managing contract negotiations and multifamily property sales. During his time at Carroll Org., he assisted with 15 acquisitions with a total value of $615 million. The executive earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Fordham University.

Real estate veteran Alex Pappas joined Lee & Associates as principal of the South Florida branch last year. This past June, rival brokerage JLL expanded its Florida multifamily team by adding Jay Ballard and Ken Delvillar to its Orlando office. The duo joined the company from Cushman & Wakefield.
