By Anuradha Kher, Online News Editor    Irvine, Calif.–Shea Properties, based in Aliso Viejo, Calif., has started the leasing and move-in process at Calypso Apartments and Lofts, a 177-unit urban boutique rental community in Irvine, Calif.The four-story wrap configuration building is situated on 3.67 acres at the intersection of Jamboree Road and Alton Parkway. Designed with urban young professionals in mind, the residences feature funky contemporary colors and steel awnings, with warm finishes such as Pergo flooring, maple wood cabinetry, stainless steel appliances and modern granite countertops. “You walk into the community and you get a feel of the Caribbean,” Kirk Roloff, senior vice president of Shea’s Apartment Development division, tells MHN.The community includes studios, one- and two-bedroom units and approximately 45 lofts ranging from in size from 605 sq. ft. to 1,448 sq. ft. Monthly rents rates at Calypso range from $1,695 to $3,340. “Shea Properties’ vision was to build a premier, unique luxury rental community combining an urban flavor with a hands-on management team and key on-site amenities which go beyond just the expected,” says Steve Gilmore, senior vice president, Shea Properties. The community features a resort-style pool and spas with cabanas and Wi-Fi; clubhouse with plasma TVs, Wi-Fi lounge and gaming tables; and a fitness center.Calypso is also close to The District, one of Orange County’s premier shopping, entertainment and dining destinations, and nearby Legacy Park, Shea’s 820-acre mixed-use community being developed on the site of the former Tustin Marine Corps Air Station.
