Landmark, CityLife to Develop Midtown Atlanta Student Housing
Landmark Properties and CityLife Development Partners completed the land purchase for construction of a 28-story mixed-use student housing development near Georgia Tech in Midtown Atlanta.
Landmark Properties and CityLife Development Partners have finalized a 1.1-acre land purchase for a 28-story mixed-use student housing development in the Midtown district of Atlanta. Located at Spring and 10th streets near Georgia Tech, The Mark at Atlanta will feature more than 780 beds, 281 apartments and more than 7,000 square feet of commercial space. The 425,000-square-foot development is slated for completion in August 2020.
Last year, Landmark Properties announced The Standard at Atlanta, a 19-story, 765-bed mixed-use development that represented the company’s first venture in Atlanta. Scheduled for completion by the start of the 2018 fall semester, The Standard has entered pre-leasing. The property is bordered by Spring, Third and Fourth streets, also in the vicinity of Georgia Tech.
“As the Midtown area grows, both in terms of student population and the Millennial workforce, so too does the need for high-quality housing options,” Landmark Properties President & CEO Wes Rogers told MHN.
“We believed from the jump that this property offered a highly desirable location, and we know we can provide one of the best living experiences in the market.”
Fully furnished apartments
Among the amenities of The Mark will be a rooftop pool and hot tub, fitness center, yoga room, bike storage center, clubhouse, study lounges, computer lab, golf simulator, sky lounge with adjoining outdoor terrace, sauna, tanning beds and on-site parking garage.
The one- through six-bedroom apartments at The Mark will be fully furnished. They will feature quartz countertops in kitchens and bathrooms, stainless-steel appliances, washers and dryers, high-speed internet and secure, controlled access.
“We’ve seen strong demand and excitement in Atlanta since announcing The Standard last year,” Rogers said. “That momentum led us to explore additional opportunities to bring more high-quality housing options to college students and young professionals in the Midtown area.”
Groundbreaking next year
Landmark Properties currently owns and manages 64 student housing projects in the U.S. The properties total more than 24,500 beds. It has under construction $1.2 billion in assets.
“We believe The Mark at Atlanta will offer one of the best locations, college living environments and amenity packages in the Midtown market,” Rogers concluded. “We look forward to breaking ground next year, and welcoming students and young professionals to their new homes in August 2020.”
