PA Student Housing Community Nearing Completion
The 197-unit community serves students at the University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon University and Carlow University. The property is scheduled to open in fall 2019.
Campus Advantage, in a joint venture with Chicago-based Pinecrest, has announced that The Bridge on Forbes student housing community—currently under construction—is 99 percent pre-leased. Once completed this fall, the property will offer 473 beds serving students at the University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon University and Carlow University.
Located at 3423 Forbes Ave., approximately 3 miles from downtown Pittsburgh, the community is about a 12-minute walk from the University of Pittsburgh. Various shopping and entertainment venues including Petersen Sports Complex, CVS, Craft Park, Starbucks and a mix of restaurants are nearby.
The 10-story building will offer a mix of 197 one-, two- and three-bedroom units with in-unit amenities such as washer/dryer, quartz countertops, dishwasher, refrigerator and living room TV. Common-area amenities will include:
- 24-hour fitness center
- indoor garage parking
- study rooms
- computer lab
- resident lobby
- roommate-matching program
- coffee bar and lounge area
Additionally, The Bridge on Forbes will offer approximately 7,000 square feet of outdoor space including two courtyards with seating, firepits and grilling stations. Rycon Construction serves as the general constructor and Desmone Architects as the architect for the project.
“There is clearly a demand in this marketplace for student housing and, through our collaboration with Pinecrest, we are ecstatic to know that our development has been a smashing success,” Michael Orsak, senior vice president of Investments at Campus Advantage, said in a prepared statement.
