JV Debuts Luxury Apartments in Downtown Huntsville
The community is the first phase of a planned six-acre development.

A joint venture between Rockefeller Group and T2 Capital Management has unveiled Vista at Councill Square, a 332-unit luxury multifamily development located in Huntsville, Ala. The six-story property is situated at in Downtown Huntsville.
According to Yardi Matrix, Vista at Councill Square broke ground in 2023, and is subject to a $57 million construction loan provided by Wintrust Bank. Rockefeller Group states that the project cost a total of $98 million. Built on three acres of a 6.1-acre contiguous parcel, the development is the first completed phase in a planned multi-phase mixed-use project.
Located at 521 Davis Circle, Vista at Councill Square offers a blend of studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartment homes in addition to townhomes. The apartments offer oversized windows, in-unit washer-dryers, premium Frigidaire appliances, custom Shaker-style cabinetry, backlit vanity mirrors and frameless glass shower enclosures.
Common-area amenities include a pair of dedicated coworking spaces on first and sixth floors, a game room and lounge with TruGolf simulator, bike storage, EV charging stations, pet spa and fitness center with yoga and meditation rooms. The community also has a guest room, to be used short-term stays by residents’ families and friends.
The property is sited within walking distance of two retail hubs: Big Brothers Shopping Center and Kennamer Shopping Center. Another, Central Park Shopping Center, is a three-minute drive from Vista at Councill Square.
Changing market
A lot happened in the nearly two years since Vista at Councill Square started construction. “For Vista, our team’s challenges were the same as those facing many other CRE projects today: market conditions,” T2 Capital Management’s Director of Acquisitions and Developments Tom Lowe told Multi-Housing News. “Vista was a 2-1/2-year construction project and the market has changed quite a bit since groundbreaking. Financial markets have changed and the multifamily market in Huntsville has evolved since our Vista project was first conceived.”
