Following the opening of the first phase of Northside, which serves students attending the University of Texas at Dallas, Balfour Beatty Campus Solutions added 900 beds to the mixed-use community.
Balfour Beatty Campus Solutions, in a partnership with developer Wynne/Jackson, has completed the second phase of Northside, a student housing community at the University of Texas at Dallas. Balfour Beatty Communities will continue to provide residential leasing and management services for the comprehensive Northside development, while Wynne/Jackson will provide leasing and management services for the retail components, and asset management of the property.
Located at 3000 Northside Blvd. in Richardson, Texas, adjacent to the university, the second phase includes 900 beds and various common-area amenities such as:
- swimming pool
- patio and lounge areas
- sand volleyball court
- indoor/outdoor fitness center
- individual study rooms on each floor
- sky lounge amenity space
Northside features a mix of studios, one-, two- and three-bedroom units. Additionally, more than 7,000 square feet of retail space is available on site. Completed in 2016, the first phase of the mixed-use development offers 313 one-, two- and three-bedroom units averaging 860 square feet. According to data provided by Yardi Matrix, Northside’s second phase was 60 percent pre-leased as of June.
“The intent of Northside was to create a walkable gathering spot with high quality services and amenities along with a safe and comfortable living environment for students,” Clyde Jackson, president & CEO of Wynne/Jackson, said in a prepared statement.
Back in January, the company started construction on a $86 million student housing community near Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind.
