JBG Debuts Central Place Residences in DC-Area
The 17,000-square-foot public plaza is anchored by three high-speed elevators that provide direct access to the Rosslyn Metro station.

Arlington, Va.—JBG Cos., in a joint venture with the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio, announced the opening of Central Place Residential, located at 1800 N. Lynn St. in Arlington, Va. The 31-story, 377-unit, 1 million-square-foot mixed-use development features studios and one-, two- and three-bedroom floorplans.
The property features dramatic glass facades on the residential tower and Class-A office building and a 17,000-square-foot public plaza and observation deck, offering outdoor seating, a splash fountain and a mix of street level retail and fast-casual dining. The plaza will also provide a pedestrian connection between North Lynn and North Moore Streets and is anchored by three high-speed elevators that provide direct access to the Rosslyn Metro station.
“Central Place is an exceptional development not only for the innovative design and amenities, but for its transformative nature of the Rosslyn community,” said Andrew Van Horn, a JBG principal. “As one of the tallest mixed-use projects in the Washington, D.C., area, Central Place will truly elevate the neighborhood and create a sense of community and place to an area that has not experienced anything like this before.”
In-unit features include epicurean kitchens with stainless steel appliances, ceiling-height cabinetry and quartz countertops; living and dining areas have open floor plans, 9-foot ceilings, wide-plank flooring, expansive windows, solar shades, balconies, full-size washer and dryers and energy efficient appliances, light and water fixtures; bedrooms offer walk-in closets and bathrooms feature custom wall tiles, linen closets and brushed nickel fixtures.
Residents have access to amenities such as a 24-hour concierge, state-of-the-art fitness center, private parking, welcoming bar area, video gaming room, poker room, billiard and shuffleboard room, outdoor pool, outdoor living and dining rooms, private cabanas, grilling stations, fire pits, lounges and a pet spa.
“The development of Central Place is one of Rosslyn’s most important milestones since the Metro came to town. It’s an embodiment of our community’s transformation from a commercial district into an active, mixed-use center,” said Mary-Claire Burick, president of the Rosslyn BID. “The observation deck and public plaza, key components of the Central Place development, are set to immediately become important community gathering places and iconic features in our neighborhood.”
Beyer Blinder Belle Architects and Planners designed the concept for Central Place and Cecconi Simone designed the interiors.
