The District on Kernan finishes renovations of apartments and community amenities for their residents this fall.
Jacksonville, Fla.—Right on time for the start of the 2016-17 academic year, The District on Kernan in Jacksonville has unveiled a $4 million renovation at the student housing community. The 360-unit, 1,096-bed community is near campuses of the University of North Florida, Florida State College and Jacksonville University.
Highlights of the upgrade include fully redesigned apartments that offer new appliances and furniture, hardwood flooring and upgraded bathrooms. A range of additional community features have been added or upgraded, such as free high-speed internet and cable, and free shuttle service to and from the University of North Florida campus.
“We listened to our most important audience—our residents—and spent last year upgrading almost every facet of our apartments and community to provide a complete worry-free environment they deserve,” said Nelson North, director of property management for We Communities, in prepared remarks. “Our residents will find upgraded finishes throughout their apartments, new appliances and luxury amenities not found in other apartment communities in Jacksonville—including our two resort style swimming pools with barbecues and resident study and relaxation lounge areas,” added North.
We Communities manages a nationwide multifamily management portfolio of more than 4,200 beds and 1,800 units nationwide.
