By Rachel Block, ReporterHouston–Paradigm Properties will use J Turner Research’s web surveys to measure resident perceptions at nine of its student housing properties.J Turner’s surveys will measure customer service levels amongst current and prospective residents. The results of the surveys will allow J Turner to develop a guide to assist Paradigm in amending which areas of their student living is in need of improvement. “Paradigm is going to be able to benchmark the best practices of the better properties and find out what those leasing agents are doing to make it of higher value,” says Joseph Batdorf (pictured), president of J Turner Research.J Turner’s surveys will be customized to meet Paradigm’s focus on the move-in/move-out process, the property and on-site customer service, all of which will help Paradigm improve their facilities and be aware of the likelihood that the student will refer a friend. “Students are fairly straightforward and our response rate is higher on student housing. I think students appreciate the opportunity to give their opinions,” Batdorf explains.J Turner Research’s PulseTracker service, which they use for both conventional and student housing, will survey residents when they are moving in to acquire insight as to how the move-in process is going, what the first impressions of the community are and the reasons for why they chose that community to live in.In the spring, a subsequent survey will be given to the residents to see how living conditions are in terms of maintenance, the quality of living conditions, amenities, the staff and thoughts in mind for renewals.
