Ismael Leyva Architects Unveils Design for 66 Rockwell in Brooklyn
New York-based Ismael Leyva Architects has announced that it has completed designs for the Brooklyn residential high rise 66 Rockwell. The firm was responsible for both the development’s architecture as well as the interior spaces.

New York—New York-based Ismael Leyva Architects has announced that it has completed designs for the Brooklyn residential high rise 66 Rockwell. The firm was responsible for both the development’s architecture as well as the interior spaces. The building was developed by Dermot Company, which started construction on the project in 2010.
“Featuring a sophisticated, translucent double-height lobby and an expansive rooftop lounge illuminated from within, 66 Rockwell will shimmer in the likeness of a jewel box, complete with a glistening, angular shaped exterior and will be complementary addition to the redevelopment of Flatbush extension,” says Ismael Leyva, president of Ismael Leyva Architects. “Residences, on the upper floors, will enjoy spectacular views of Manhattan, and all residents will enjoy residing in Brooklyn’s vibrant BAM cultural district.”
66 Rockwell, located at 29 Flatbush Avenue, will rise 42 stories above the Brooklyn skyline, offering upper-floor residents pristine city views. The building includes 326 rental units and totals 370,000 square feet. Interior spaces are slated for completion in fall 2014.
Residences will be available in studio, one- and two-bedroom options and an assortment of exclusive high-end amenities will be available to residents. That amenities package is highlighted by the 42nd floor Sky Lounge, which includes a bar, fireplace and outdoor cabanas. Fourth floor amenities include a fitness center that offers Bikram Yoga to residents, as well as a library, country kitchen for entertaining, a sports bar, and game and golf simulator rooms. An additional terrace that includes large-screen projection and barbecue work stations is also available. Other building features include storage space access, a bike room and a 135-car parking garage.
The BAM cultural district neighborhood boasts convenient access to an assortment of transit options, as well as retail, restaurants, dining and other entertainment venues.
