Inside Greystone’s New West Village Luxury Property

New York—Greystone has introduced its latest luxury residential property in New York City’s West Village at 175 West 10th Street.
The boutique corner building in the Greenwich Village Historic District features five full-floor residences, among them a duplex penthouse with three private outdoor spaces. Designed by BKSK Architects, the condominiums will be offered by exclusive sales agents Fredrik Eklund and John Gomes of Douglas Elliman.
The residences blend classic New York architecture and modern conveniences. They range in size from more than 2,700 square feet to more than 3,000 square feet.
All offer private elevator entrances, private outdoor space, oversized steel-frame windows, oil-finished oak floors and approximately 10-foot living room ceiling heights. Pricing starts at $6.6 million.
“Continental Ventures and Itzhaki Acquisitions were already involved in the project at 130 7th Avenue South, now named 175 West 10thStreet, and Greystone felt the existing team was a fantastic opportunity to join forces,” Jeffrey Simpson, head of Greystone Investment, told MHN. “Building on an existing relationship with Continental Ventures, Greystone acquired a majority interest to develop the luxury condominium. The location of the property and Greystone’s experience with landmarks made this a good development opportunity. “
Greystone formed a joint venture on this project based on its existing relationship with Continental Ventures and Itzhaki Acquisitions, recognizing all parties had something to add to make this a memorable project, Simpson added.
“BKSK Architects’ plans for the condominium was another draw for Greystone,” he said. “The concept for the building brings a truly unique façade and beautiful addition to the 7th Avenue corridor and landmarked district.”
George Schieferdecker, BKSK Architects partner, reported the firm sought to create a building that was both new and contemporary. The design also needed to be “referential to the wonderful character and materials of the Village,” he said. “Each unit takes part in the dynamism of the neighborhood but also extends back to the quiet of a typical Village block interior.”
The residences’ thoughtfully designed kitchens feature detailed custom wood cabinetry with Calacatta Gold polished marble countertops and backsplash. High-end Gaggenau appliance packages enhance the chef-style culinary precision. The solariums, adjacent to the kitchen area, offer Bluestone flooring and feature oversized windows with views of the West Village.
Master bathrooms deliver Calacatta Crema marble walls with warm veining and linear accent tile. A glass-enclosed shower and marble-encased tub also figure prominently in the bathrooms. Also included is a double vanity with ample storage.
“It’s not every day that a special project such as this one hits the market in a highly-coveted neighborhood like the West Village,” said Douglas Elliman’s Gomes. “We don’t expect this limited collection of thoughtfully-designed residences to stay on the market very long.”
