Collingswood, N.J.—Ingerman commenced construction on phase two of The Collings at The LumberYard, the only transit-oriented, luxury apartment community in Collingswood, N.J.
The first phase, which was completed earlier this year, is comprised of 34 apartment homes, featuring a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom designs, including seven townhomes with private entrances. The apartments are currently 100 percent leased.
The Collings at The LumberYard’s second phase will add a five-story, mixed-use building featuring 70 luxury apartments, 12,000 square feet of ground-floor office space, 1,500 square feet of retail and the integration of numerous premium amenities for residents of both phases.
“The features are somewhat akin to our slogan, which is ‘urban but suburban,’ something we believe is the best of both worlds,’” Brad Ingerman, Ingerman’s president and CEO, tells MHN. “It’s a transit-oriented development, which can get you into Philadelphia in 15 minutes with a stop two blocks from our door. At the same time, it offers a downtown orientation of a suburban feel with restaurants, retail and lots of other community things.”
Amenities include gourmet kitchens with granite countertops and full-size washers and dryers, as well as Energy Star appliances and generous closet space. The pet-friendly property will also offer an outdoor courtyard with grill and covered parking.
“The 34 units we finished don’t have any independent amenities at this point,” Ingerman says. “When we complete the new towers, it will have fulltime management and maintenance on the property and we will also have a reasonably sized fitness area and great community room.”
According to Ingerman, The Collings is located along Haddon Avenue, which was named one of the “Top 10 Great Streets in America” by the American Planning Association, and is surrounded by an eclectic variety of shops, as well as the borough’s highly acclaimed “Restaurant Row.”
Ingerman’s new corporate headquarters will also take up residence on the ground floor of the property.
Leasing for phase two is planned to begin in early 2014.
