Hunter Douglas Contract Introduces International Façade System to the U.S.

Hunter Douglas Contract recently introduced its QuadroClad rainscreen system to the U.S. market. The ventilated facades are designed to reduce energy consumption and prevent water damage in buildings.The system, which is offered in metal, glass and 3form resin panels, reportedly offers more control over solar gain and increased moisture control than traditional wet/caulked systems. It minimizes heat loss by providing an insulating layer, and condensation is wicked away from interior walls. The rainscreen system provides equilibrium of air pressure within the air cavity and the outside of the building’s envelope, preventing water penetration into the wall and surrounding elements. By eliminating most of the thermal bridging, the air cavity also reduces the building’s energy consumption.Additionally, the metal panels are available in a variety of colors and finishes, while the glass panels offer tinting, silk-screening and fritting. The resin panels can incorporate any design for light transmission, color and shape.
