Housing Trust Group completed its latest luxury apartment community, Aviva, located in the Phoenix suburb of Mesa, Ariz. The $63 million project will welcome its first residents in January 2018 and Mark-Taylor has been tapped to handle leasing. The community was designed by Biltform Architecture Group and constructed by Chasse Building Team.

“Mesa is experiencing explosive population growth, with several new tech and healthcare businesses bringing jobs and the need for more luxury housing to the area. We always look to enter a market where the residents have the income to support luxury apartment living, and where there’s significant pent-up demand for luxury project. We believe we found both in Mesa,” Matthew Rieger, president & CEO of HTG, told Multi-Housing News.

Located at 8340 East Baseline Road, Aviva comprises 325 one-, two- and three-bedroom units starting at a monthly rent of $1,050. Interior features include nine-foot ceilings, fireplaces, granite and quartz countertops, vaulted ceilings, energy smart lighting, oversized walk-in closets, private master bathrooms, wide-plank flooring, gourmet kitchens and expansive terraces and balconies. Residents will have access to luxury amenities such as:

  • 150-foot resort-style pool
  • jacuzzis
  • cabanas
  • fire pits
  • 120-inch video projection screen
  • state-of-the-art health and wellness center
  • yoga and spin studio with virtual trainer
  • clubhouse with media and game room
  • lounge space and billiards
  • outdoor exercise stations
  • outdoor kitchen grills
  • electric car charging stations
  • basketball court
  • dog park

Aviva will be certified to the National Green Building Standard and include green elements such as dual glazed/high efficiency windows, ENERGY STAR appliances, high efficiency shower heads and faucets, low-water-use landscaping, weather-sealed insulated doors, low-VOC paints and adhesives, drought-tolerant native plants and low-energy-use lighting.

“Aviva caters to people who value a healthy lifestyle and being immersed in nature. We have lots of walking paths, a high-end gym that could compete with some luxury high-end gym chains, and of course, a stunning 150-foot long resort-style pool,” added Rieger.

HTG has been busy this year also working on several affordable housing communities, the most recent being Freedom Gardens, a 96-unit, $18.5 million property in Brooksville, Fla.
