Holland Partners Opens Long Beach Community
The 271-unit property came online with help from a $90 million construction loan.

Holland Partners has completed Volta on Pine, a 271-unit property in Long Beach, Calif. The development is a joint venture between Holland and North America Sekisui House, Yardi Matrix data shows. According to the same source, the construction was financed through a $90 million loan from 5 Arch Funding.
MVE + Partners handled the design of the 285,415-square-foot downtown project. LRM Landscape Architecture and interior design firm Arial Fox also collaborated on the eight-story project.
The mixed-use project includes 1,300 square feet of ground-floor retail, as well as three levels of subterranean parking adding up to 341 spots. The two mid-rise buildings locate at 635 Pine Ave. are connected by a sky bridge.
Volta on Pine encompasses studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom units with floorplans ranging from 629 to 1,400 square feet. Eleven apartments are set aside as median-income affordable housing. The pet-friendly property provides a rooftop terrace, a sky lounge, a fitness center, a swimming pool with sun deck, a hot hub as well as outdoor grilling areas and firepits.
The community is located one mile north of the Long Beach waterfront, within walking distance of numerous dining and shopping options, as well as public transit stops.
Earlier this month, less than a mile away, the 160-unit Elevate Long Beach traded for $55 million. CBRE Global Investors provided that acquisition loan.
