Hines to Develop 1st San Antonio Community
Designed by Meeks + Partners, the 396-unit community will be built within The RIM, a 1.8 million-square-foot mixed-use development. Construction is set to begin in the first quarter of 2018 with occupancy in spring of 2019.

Hines, in partnership with Meeks + Partners, is developing its first San Antonio multifamily property, a four-story luxury development within The RIM, a 1.8 million-square-foot mixed-use development. Construction is set to begin in the first quarter of 2018 with occupancy in spring of 2019.
“Hines is very familiar with The RIM, having owned the retail center since 2014,” said Chris O’Neill, managing director for Hines. “When we found the opportunity to pursue a multifamily development within The RIM community, we jumped at it. The area’s evolving amenities, local economics and the objectives of our investors are all lining up nicely.”
A Look Inside
Totaling 380,000 square feet, the 396 apartments will range from 682 to 1,479 square feet and include private balconies and storage. Residents will have access to amenities including:
- clubhouse
- fitness center and yoga studio
- game room
- tree-lined entries
- centralized leasing center
- collaborative work room
- two-tiered pool with cabana grill
- dog park with wash area
- tuck-under garages
“The Rim is a popular destination for retail and nightlife and provides an exciting community for residents. People want to live where they can eat, shop and play, and this community does just that,” said Ryan Meeks, partner with Meeks + Partners.
The project will connect directly to The RIM through a pedestrian-friendly streetscape, providing access to more than 1.8 million square feet of retail, entertainment and dining options. Residents will also be in close proximity to parks and trails, as well as Topgolf, Six Flags Fiesta Texas and several golf courses.
