H2O Degree Introduces New Utility Meter

H2O Degree, a manufacturer of submetering systems used for leak detection, utility conservation and building-automation system integration, has introduced its new L54230 LoRaWAN pulse counter, a metering solution for resident utility billings used in multifamily communities.

The L54230 pulse counter can remotely monitor and record utility submetering data through the open-protocol, cloud-based LoRaWAN platform which doesn’t require a dedicated computer, software or a repeater network. The two-channel wireless counter can also monitor and record dry-contact pulses from two separate gas or water utility meters. The Class A wireless 915 MHz interface features a bi-directional communication range of over six miles. The L54230 can operate within a 1,000-foot radius from the gateway, while also covering 70-acre sites and 50-story high-rises.

Easy to integrate

The cost-reducing product is designed to operate in conjunction with most pulse-output water and gas meters. Water and gas meters that the pulse counter can connect to include:

And because it’s based on the increasingly popular open protocol, our L54230 pulse counter will be able to integrate with existing and future LoRaWAN-enabled metering products used for on the floor flood detection and remote water shut-off.”
