Dallas—Luxury isn’t always a term associated with seniors housing, but why shouldn’t it be? SRP Medical, an upscale seniors housing developer, along with Frontier Management, announced it has broken ground on Magnolia Heights, a luxury community for seniors in Spring, Texas. It will be the first new senior living community that provides assisted living and memory care residences in the area in over 10 years.

“Today’s seniors want—and deserve—to have the same, high degree of choice and first-class living options to which they are accustomed,” Scott Wilson, managing principal, SRP Medical, tells MHN. “SRP and Frontier Management are building Magnolia Heights with this high standard in mind, including an array of luxury amenities aimed at enhancing the physical and emotional well-being of residents, especially those suffering from dementia or Alzheimer’s.”

Magnolia Heights will feature studios and one- and two-bedroom units. Apartment amenities will include granite countertops, walk-in closets and tile showers.

“The building will feature a theater room, chapel, library, multiple living rooms and rooms for activities,” Wilson says. “Apartments will also be larger than many competitive properties in the area, including a select number of two bedroom apartments and memory care rooms with full private bathrooms.”

Mutual of Omaha Bank provided construction financing for the project. The general contractor is Rogers O’Brien, and the architect is GHLA Architecture.

The community is scheduled to be completed in May 2013.
