Greystone Further Streamlines Its FHA Lending Business with New Hire

New York—Greystone announced that Scott Thurman has joined the company as senior managing director & chief underwriter within the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) lending team. In his new role, Thurman will focus on multifamily, affordable and healthcare property transactions, as well as further streamlining the FHA underwriting process.

Thurman was previously with ACRE Capital where he held a similar position and prior to that, he served as deputy & chief underwriter at CWCapital. Thurman brings 25 years of FHA industry experience, having overseen the underwriting of more than $2 billion in FHA-insured loans. He contributed to FHA’s new approach to financing residential care facilities as part of the original FHA-Lender team.

Thurman’s career kicked off at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), where he served as multifamily housing representative & information specialist for nearly a decade. In this role, he helped develop HUD’s first streamlined processing for refinancing apartments and contributed to the MAP program.

“With his deep industry and management experience, as well as his passion for serving customers and colleagues, Scott will play a key role in furthering Greystone’s mission to become the easiest lender in the country to work with and the easiest lender in the country to work for,” said Mordecai Rosenberg, head of Greystone’s FHA lending business, in prepared remarks.

Greystone also recently announced the appointment of Richmond-based Dan Frink as managing director of the FHA lending team.
