New York— New York-based Greystone Real Estate Advisors has completed the $33 million sale of two senior housing communities in the Carolinas.

Greystone recently announced it closed the sale of Brookdale Hendersonville East in Hendersonville, N.C., and Brookdale Skylyn in Spartanburg, S.C. The two communities were sold by Brookdale Senior Living Inc. to a private equity group. In the transaction, Greystone’s Mike Garbers and Cody Tremper represented the seller.

Why was Greystone chosen for this assignment? “The two communities are located in secondary and tertiary markets in the Southeast. Along with experience in primary markets nationwide, Greystone has extensive experience in secondary and tertiary markets across the country, giving us access to buyers interested in a wide range of investment opportunities,” Greystone Managing Director Garbers told MHN.

“Greystone brought a buyer to the table who was willing and interested in both owning and operating in these secondary-tertiary markets.”

Nestled in a town approximately 25 miles south-southeast of Asheville, N.C., Brookdale Hendersonville East is an independent living and memory care community built in two stages in 1985 and 1993. The community sprawls across a 21.36-acre parcel of land.

The community includes independent living cottages, an independent living clubhouse, administrative office structure and separate memory care building.

Tucked between Greenville, S.C., and Charlotte, N.C., Brookdale Skylyn is an independent living, assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing community built in 1986 on a 17.61-acre site. The property is made up of two senior living buildings and a single skilled nursing facility.
