Greystar to Manage Student Housing Near FSU

Tallahassee, Fla.—Urban Street Development and CollegeTown LLC have tapped Greystar Student Living to manage their CollegeTown at Madison Street student housing development in Tallahassee near Florida State University (FSU). The community includes one-, two- and three-bedroom units ranging in size from 538 square feet to 1,107 square feet.
Phase 1 of the project, located at 815 Madison St., has been completed and includes 135 beds and a variety of restaurants. Phase 2 is under construction on the northeast corner of South Woodward Ave. and West Madison St. and will feature 202 beds and additional retail space.
The apartments feature flat screen TVs, 9- to 14-foot ceilings, walk-in closets, stackable washers and dryers, and balconies in some units. Common amenities include a 4,000-square-foot indoor/outdoor summer kitchen, a fitness center, high-speed Internet, areas for social gathering and a business center.
Retailers located at the property currently include Urban Outfitters, Madison Social, Pomberry, Samba Cantina, Recess, Brooklyn Water Bagel and Vale Foods. CollegeTown at Madison Street also counts as walkable in that it’s two blocks from FSU’s main campus, and across from Doak Campbell Stadium.
FSU is one of the larger universities in the state, with the main campus totaling nearly 490 acres in Tallahasse, and with an enrollment of more than 41,000 students. The school houses about 6,500 undergraduates on campus, and is expanding its housing offerings.
