Ossining, N.Y.—Ginsberg Development Companies (GDC) representatives, along with elected officials from the Village of Ossining and Westchester County, gathered for a topping-off ceremony at a new luxury rental community.

More than 200 construction workers were in attendance, as the event marked completion of the final floor and roof of the seven-story building. Harbor Square is slated to begin leasing in spring 2016.

“We are delighted to celebrate the topping off of this beautiful new building that will bring luxury resort-style living to the Ossining waterfront,” said Martin Ginsburg, principal of GDC. “Today is also a celebration of the revival of one of the world’s greatest rivers. This property, which was once an industrial site, is being transformed into a magnificent waterfront community featuring a first-class restaurant, monumental sculpture and a new public park and promenade. And all just a short walk from the Metro-North train station.”

“The Harbor Square development will provide high quality rentals to meet the housing needs of younger residents as well as empty-nesters while creating hundreds of construction jobs,” noted County Executive Robert P. Astorino. “The County’s Industrial Development Agency is proud to have partnered with Martin Ginsburg in providing financial incentives for this project. We applaud Martin Ginsburg for his vision in creating this innovative transit-oriented development.”

Many units will have balconies with spectacular views of the waterfront. Resort-style amenities will include a full-service concierge, a rooftop club lounge, rooftop pool and deck with cabana seating, barbecue stations, an outdoor bar with TV, and a first-class spa and fitness center providing personal trainers and spa treatments.

The property will also include a 6,000-square-foot restaurant with fine and casual dining along the Ossining waterfront. GDC is in discussion with numerous prominent restaurateurs to operate the restaurant, due to open in summer 2016. As part of the development of Harbor Square, GDC is constructing a public park with a children’s playground and a promenade with access to the ferry, providing service between Haverstraw and Ossining. The new park will be ready next spring.

Harbor Square is one of the four resort-style luxury rental communities currently under development by GDC in the Hudson Valley. The other three are River Tides at Greystone, a 330-unit luxury rental property overlooking the Hudson in Yonkers; The Lofts on Saw Mill River, which offers 66 loft-style rental apartments in the Village of Hastings-on-Hudson; and Riverside at Harbors-at-Haverstraw – the second phase of the Harbors-at-Haverstraw project – which features 106 studio and one- and two-bedroom apartments located directly on the banks of the Hudson in Rockland County. Riverside is more than 50 percent leased since opening in early June.
