First New Palm Beach Shoreline Building in Decade Launches Sales

Palm Beach, Fla.—The first new addition to the highly sought Palm Beach shoreline in more than 10 years has commenced sales. The work of New York City-based designer and developer DDG, which developed and built it, 3550 South Ocean offers 30 generously sized residences, each with private outdoor space and unobstructed beachfront perspectives.

The seven-story building heralds a fresh and much higher design standard in Palm Beach. A collaboration with leading local architecture firms Kobi Karp Architecture and Garcia Stromberg resulted in the design.

The building’s two and three-bedroom residences, including penthouses, range in size from 2,500- to 3,400-square-feet. Each serves up light-filled interiors, direct elevator access, entry foyers and private balconies. As a result of the cutting-edge saw-tooth profile, each residence is blanketed with indirect northern light, while offering water views and ocean zephyrs.

Each one of the quintet of penthouses features panoramic private rooftop terraces that deliver Intracoastal Waterway views to the west and Atlantic Ocean perspective to the east, resulting in these dramatic settings being ideal places to entertain.

The interior design is an homage of sorts to time-honored Palm Beach elegance, resulting in clean and contemporary lines and a soft color palette. Materials include chiseled limestone, white and gray travertine, local coral stone and white oak. Residential interiors are graced by large, open chef-caliber kitchens with custom over-sized islands of sophisticated stonework, solid oak herringbone flooring and luxurious high-end appliances and fixture packages.

Glass windows extend from floor to ceiling, while open living areas and sliding doors to private covered balconies add natural light and water views. The result is a blurring between interior and exterior settings. Home prices start at $2.3 million.

For some time, DDG had sought the optimal moment to unveil its brand to the South Florida marketplace. When company officials discovered the 3550 South Ocean Boulevard site, they knew they had pinpointed the perfect property. “To be directly on the beach is not only a unique opportunity for buyers, but also for us as developers,” said Joseph A.
