Fifield Cos. has topped off 740 N. Aberdeen, an 11-story residential building in Chicago’s River West neighborhood that will deliver 188 luxury apartments. Scheduled to open in fall 2020, the transit-oriented community was designed by Fitzgerald Associates Architects and is being built by McHugh Construction.

The building at the junction of Ogden and Milwaukee avenues broke ground this past July. In addition to 2,400 square feet of ground-floor retail, the property will offer a mix of studios and one-, two- and three-bedroom units ranging in size from 540 to 1,513 square feet. Apartments will feature plank flooring, high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, open-plan kitchens and spa baths. Select apartments will include balconies.

Morgante Wilson Architects designed the apartment and amenities interiors. Community amenities will include a fitness club, resident lounge, party room, coworking space and separate conference room, and parking garage with 80 spaces. Outdoors, the property will feature a landscape sun terrace on the third level with a pool. Fifield Cos. has also tapped Hitchcock Design Group to develop an adjacent public park that will include green space, a dog park, seating and dedicated access for residents.

The project is located nearby the Chicago station on the CTA’s “L” rapid transit system, serving the Blue Line, and is just off the Milwaukee Avenue corridor, a hub of residential and commercial development, with a variety of restaurant, bar and entertainment options in the area.
