By Erika Schnitzer, Associate EditorForth Worth, Texas–Faulkner Design Group, a Dallas-based interior and architectural design group, has been retained to provide interior design and planning for 1301 Throckmorton Omni Residences in Forth Worth, Texas.Developed by Omni Hotel/TRT Holdings, 1301 Throckmorton is an 89-unit, 18-story luxury condominium atop the 614-key Omni Fort Worth Hotel. “The condo tower is attracting people who have a more traditional home in Fort Worth and want something more dynamic downtown,” says Adrienne Faulkner, ASID, president and CEO of Faulkner Design Group.Residences range in size from 873 to 4,429 sq. ft. and are priced from $399,000 to $2.65 million. Standard finishes and amenities in the homes include Viking and ASKO appliances. A rustic feel was created using native stone, hardwoods and glass. Residents will have the ability to choose from three finish packages—Traditional Series, Transitional Series and Contemporary Series.“We worked for over six months on the unit plan design because the view is spectacular,” and we wanted to have unobstructed views, Faulkner tells MHN. “It’s really important that when you open the door, you have that view,” she says, explaining that residents’ first impressions will be of the views because of the front door’s location in relation to the curtain walls. Each unit features eight-ft.-wide balconies–wide enough to fit a dining table–which is unusual for Fort Worth, explains Faulkner. “Fort Worth has a rich soul,” she says. “This is more rich, classic and sophisticated. It’s something of a timeless, classic design that will stand out for many years to come.”1301 Throckmorton offers a private rooftop pool and garden terrace, fitness center, entertainment room with a kitchen and private storage spaces. Additionally, resident services include in-room dining, housekeeping, valet parking and concierge. The project topped out on August 13, and the residences are expected to be complete by the summer of 2009. The hotel is set to open in January 2009. Approximately 35 percent of the residences have been sold.Located across from the Forth Worth Convention Center and Water Gardens, 1301 Throckmorton is within walking distance of the city’s cultural centers, restaurants and nightlife. The project was financed by Omni Hotels through TRT Holdings with tax incentives from the city of Fort Worth.
