After presenting three laser distance meters earlier this year, Extech Instruments, a manufacturer of test and measurement tools, has launched two new moisture meters. The MO53 and MO57 pinless options offer a moisture measurement depth between 20 and 100 mm.

As residents demand better information about the environmental health standards inside their homes, Extech’s new products come in handy. They can be used to measure moisture in wood—up to 99.9 percent—as well as other building materials such as wallboard, sheetrock, plaster, mortar, concrete or tiles—up to 56.5 percent for MO 53 and up to 99.9 percent for MO57.

Both non-invasive and easy-to-operate models feature icons that display low, medium and high levels of moisture content, audible alerts and built-in battery level check and measurement verification test. Additionally, the moisture meters come equipped with a 9V battery and wrist strap.
