Empower Communities to Build 100-Acre MHC in San Antonio
Plans call for 547 mobile homes on 95 acres, as well as multiple amenities.
Empower Communities is working on a 100-acre manufactured housing development in the South Side area of San Antonio, the San Antonio Business Journal reported. Project plans call for 547 mobile home pads on 95 acres and a 5-acre lot with dedicated amenities.
Population growth and incoming developments in the area were some of the factors that helped Empower Communities and its partners make this investment in the Alamo City, said the company’s Co-Founder & Principal, Julian Reynolds, in prepared remarks. The developer acquired the land from a bigger tract, he added.

The mobile homes will cost between $80,000 and $120,000, with the developers retaining land ownership. Common-area amenities will include basketball courts, a 90-foot swimming pool, a soccer field with flood lights and artificial turf, a sports bar and a gym, among others.
News came of another manufactured housing project in the nearby Houston area in August: CenterSquare Investment Management acquired Piney Woods, an unbuilt 394-lot community in Crosby, Texas. The project is developed with joint venture partner KBH Venture and general contractor Woodforest Construction.
