Minneapolis—Dominium announced that it has acquired 144 units spread out over three sites. The communities are called Somerset Properties, and are located in Willmar, Minn.
Somerset Properties were originally built in 2002. Dominium plans to renovate the properties, including work on the interiors and exteriors of the communities. Renovations will include replacing all the countertops and cabinet fronts, as well as the majority of major appliances, carpet and flooring. The units will get new entry doors. Additionally, the common spaces will be updated, which includes adding new lighting and flooring, and painting all the walls.
Dominium also plans to build a new clubhouse with a community room and fitness room; the clubhouse will also be where the management offices that service all the Somerset sites will be located. The sites will also get new playground equipment, electronic key fob access and security cameras.
“We are very excited to add Somerset to our list of properties,” Mark Moorhouse, senior vice president and partner, Dominium, says. “We will be doing extensive renovations to units and community spaces to provide an improved experience to our residents.”
Renovations for the Somerset Properties are expected to be completed by October 2013.
