DDG To Design New Development at Dubai’s Jumeirah Golf Estates
A major international competition undertaken by Jumeirah Properties of Dubai, UAE, has resulted in a triumph by DDG, the U.S.-based planning, design, architecture, interiors and graphics firm.

Dubai—A major international competition undertaken by Jumeirah Properties of Dubai, UAE, has resulted in a triumph by DDG, the U.S.-based planning, design, architecture, interiors and graphics firm.
As a result of winning the competition, DDG has been tabbed to design the pioneering “Andalucia Village” —Jumeirah Golf Estates’ mixed use development, one of the most prestigious golf communities on earth. The new development will feature apartments, condominiums and townhomes, as well as green space to encourage interaction with the outdoor environment.
Jumeirah Golf Estates is in the heart of New Dubai, near the Dubai Internet and Media City business districts, and features a collection of individually designed, luxury homes set on four eco-signature, 18-hole, championship golf courses designed by PGA veterans Greg Norman, Sergio Garcia and Vijay Singh.
Andalucia Village is a gateway to Jumeirah Golf Estates. DDG’s winning design evokes an inspiring hill town, “with a romantic, leisurely feel in its highly-themed architecture,” sys Ahsin Rasheed, DDG chairman, CEO and president.
The entire project will encompass more than one million square feet on 26 acres. In addition to residences, it will feature among its many specialty elements a shopping center, mosque and a marketing and management office.
Andalucia Village is slated for completion in 18 months at an estimated cost of $250 million. DDG will head an expert team of local and international design consultants. It is providing a complete line of services for the planning, design, branding and execution of the project, including LEED certification.
A number of sustainable features highlight Andalucia Village. The include green roofs and open spaces to help reduce clean water run-off, electric vehicle charging stations, a bicycle network designed to promote transit efficiency, solar orientations and energy-efficient lighting and systems.
