London—Residential, hospitality and commercial developer DAMAC Properties has received five awards during the property awards season, increasing its past successes. Awards ranged in categories as diverse as the company’s overall work, marketing, website and specific projects.
Among the approving nods DAMAC received from industry specialists in 2012 was Developer of the Year for the Middle East at the Overseas Property Professionals (OPP) Excellence Awards in London that was attended by 300 of the leading figures of the global property market from 20 different countries.
Further recognitions were received at the International Property Awards, where DAMAC Properties picked up two awards for the Al Jawharah tower and one in the Developer Website category, making it the eighth award received by www.damacproperties.com.
The company’s website is judiciously updated with construction progress, information about new projects, while also hosting payment portals as well as giving the opportunity to chat online with a sales advisor. On the distinction, Niall McLoughlin, senior vice president of DAMAC Properties, declared: “Winning an award for our website for the eighth time is testament to the hard work and commitment our teams show by keeping the site fresh and exciting for our clients. The site is an important communication tool, especially for our overseas investors. It gives them a close connection to their property which they can watch grow and develop in front of them.”
Meanwhile the Al Jawharah luxury tower in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, was also a repeat offender in the awards section, being highly commended for the second year in a row. The 2012 International Property Awards bestowed upon the project the title of Best Interior Design for its collaboration with Versace Home, while also giving it an approving nod in the Residential High-Rise category.
The Al Jawharah, meaning “the jewel of the Red Sea” in Arabic is a 48-story luxury residential high-rise currently under construction, having reached it 30th floor recently. Located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the property is expected to become a landmark development in the region, featuring clean lines and shifting, interlocking facades that refract and disperse light due to their outer surface of reflective panels. The interior of the property was imagined “to create the illusion of walking into a jewelry box filled with precious gems,” said Ziad El Chaar, DAMAC properties managing director. The property will contain one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, due for completion by the last quarter of 2013. Another component that will make Al Jawharah the most desired and exclusive residential project in Saudi Arabia is the DAMAC Residences project, a project realized in partnership with Versace Home, due to complete in the second quarter of 2014.
DAMAC completed the property awards season with PropertyFinder.ae’s Best Marketing Campaign award for Burjside Boulevard. The 50-story Burjside Boulevard, located in the center of Dubai’s Burj Area is due to complete by mid-2013 and will be the first project to be managed by the DAMAC Suites & Spa division. Its luxury serviced and fully furnished one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments will feature five-star concierge services. The hotel apartment-type development will be located within walking distance of the world’s largest shopping mall.
“It is always an honour to be recognised by our peers and further affirms DAMAC Properties as an established and trusted developer in the market,” said Niall McLoughlin. “DAMAC Properties is taking a leadership position in reinvigorating the Dubai property market and these latest awards are recognition of the hard work our staff has put in over the past year.”
