Durham, N.C.—Crescent Ninth Street, a 303-unit apartment community in Durham, has been completed. The property is at 749 Ninth St. in the city’s Ninth Street district, which is between Duke University’s East and West campuses, and is known for its bars, restaurants, coffee shops and funky retail.
The property, which is LEED certified, features one-, two- and three-bedroom units with granite countertops, hardwood cabinetry and walk-in closets. Rental rates range from $1,130 a month for a 578-square-foot studio to about $3,450 for a three-bedroom unit, which measures 1,590 square feet.
According to the developer, Crescent Communities, Crescent Ninth Street features three distinct building types designed to blend with the district’s existing features. Amenities include a resort-style saltwater pool plaza, an athletic club, a media room and business center, demonstration kitchen, bark park with dog spa and bike repair room.
The development was financed with construction loans from US Bank and Pearlmark, as well as an equity investment from Crescent Communities. Historical Concepts designed the building, with Cline Design Associates doing the landscape architecture. Vignette Interior Design did the interiors.
Crescent Communities, which is based in Charlotte, is no stranger to the Research Triangle market. Earlier this month, the company completed Cameron Village, an apartment property Raleigh, and it’s still at work on the 208-unit Crescent Main Street apartment property, which is in Durham.
