Creating a New Company for Niche Housing
PinPoint Commercial is looking to expand their focus.

Houston—PinPoint Commercial LP has created a new company, PinPoint Senior Living, which will focus on establishing senior housing properties that include high-tech features. The new entity will do so as it undertakes four new senior living developments.
Previously, Houston-based PinPoint Commercial developed eight senior properties. PinPoint chairman John Thompson calls the creation of a new entity a “strategic decision, so that our developments can receive the focus they deserve.” Tasked with leading the new initiative will be Charles Turner, president of PinPoint Senior Living, who has already helped build PinPoint Commercial’s presence in senior housing.
The four new properties will be the Legacy at Santa Fe in Santa Fe, NM, the Legacy at Town Square in Amarillo, Texas; the Legacy at South Plains in Lubbock, Texas; and the Legacy at Cimarron in El Paso. Once fully leased, each new property will employ between 40 to 50 people.
With a total of 86 units per location, the new developments will be designed around PinPoint’s Concierge Senior Living concept, an approach that caters to residents’ individual needs, according to the company. Each area in the property will be tailored for a specific purpose—thus some areas will be for those who require minimal assistance, others for those who need more help, while yet another portion of the property will be for residents with advanced dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.
The properties will also employ various programs and technologies to assist residents, including digital resident care platforms that integrate health and medical records with touchscreen devices; tablet computers for residents to stay in touch with loved ones; and monitoring systems to alert staff when atypical behaviors occur. The tech will also include customizable wireless caregiver alert systems, wireless RFID door entry systems, exercise equipment created specifically for seniors, personal activity trackers and a telemedicine platform that allows instant access to a doctor.
