Continential Properties Starts Work on Suburban New Orleans Apartments
Continental Properties Co. has broken ground on the Springs of Fremaux Town Center in Slidell, La.

Slidell, La.—Continental Properties Co. has broken ground on the Springs of Fremaux Town Center in Slidell, La. The project will be within the new Fremaux Town Center shopping center, a Sterling Properties development, and consist of 14 two-story apartment buildings. Slidell, on the northeast shore of Lake Pontchartrain, is a suburb of New Orleans.
The property will offer units ranging from studios to three-bedroom residences. Common amenities include a 4,000-square-foot clubhouse, resort-style pool, fitness center, business center, dog park and attached and detached garages. The development will also offer a free car care center and pet spa area.
Doster Construnction Co. is the apartment development’s GC and Phillips Partnership is the architect. Doster has completed more than 1,000 units of multifamily housing in the last year.
Work on Fremaux Town Center kicked off earlier this year, with the first phase comprising 45 acres and almost 350,000 square feet of retail space, anchored by Dick’s Sporting Goods, Kohl’s and Best Buy, and including such eateries as Cheddar’s, Panera Bread Company and Longhorn Steakhouse. Phase I also features a 41,000-square-foot LA Fitness center.
The second phase, slated to open in the spring, comprises another 40 acres and will be anchored by a 126,000-square-foot Dillard’s A Store. There will also be high-end women’s fashion shops with additional restaurants and specialty retailers.
