Compact Living Space Expands Footprint in Germany

Frankfurt, Germany – formart GmbH & Co. KG, one of Germany’s leading residential real estate developers, recently celebrated the inauguration of its first microapartment project.

Called Studio Eins, the 224-unit community is located in Frankfurt am Main’s Gallus district. The new residences range from approximately 258 square feet (24 square meters) to 376 square feet (35 square meters).

All of these units, which cater to students and young professionals, have been sold to investors. Following completion of construction, the first tenants moved in at the beginning of July.

According to Stefan Dahlmanns, branch manager of formart NRW, there was great demand for this project, both in terms of sales and leasing. There are still a few units available, with all-inclusive rents starting from $515 (EUR 470) per month. All incidental costs including electricity, water, heating and WiFi in each apartment are included in the rent.

Studio Eins has been designed by BGF+ and offers three separate common areas.

“We have created a diverse spatial experience that extends over two levels and is characterized by openness and spaciousness. Not only do the galleries provide interesting views of the lower areas, but they are also a space to withdraw from the activity,” architect Gunther Götz of BGF+.

“Frankfurt am Main is a commuter metropolis, so there is huge demand for compact living space. But students and young professionals are also drawn to the city. We are delighted with the dynamic way in which the Gallus district is developing, and warmly welcome the new tenants,” added Frankfurt’s Mayor Olaf Cunitz.
