By Anuradha Kher, Online News EditorIrving, Texas–Collegiate Development Services LP has recently been selected to develop and construct Midwestern State University’s new on-campus residence hall with 96 apartment-style units, to be complete by August 2009.The project will meet all the requirements set forth by the Historically Underutilized Business for the State, a program that encourages and promotes the use of minority and woman-owned businesses in the Department’s procurement activities. This new residence hall is located on the southwest corner of Louis J. Rodriguez Drive and Midwestern Parkway in Wichita Falls, Texas. The project, to be built on approximately five acres, encompasses a three-story building containing 54 two-bedroom/two-bathroom units, 42 four-bedroom/two-bathroom units, a total of 276 lease-by-the-bed spaces and 259 parking spaces. Unit amenities include a full-size kitchen with complete appliance package, including a refrigerator with ice-maker, over-the-range microwave and full-size washer/dryer; furnished living room and bedrooms with walk-in closets; individual bathroom sinks; high-speed Internet access; cable television; ceiling fans; and individually locked bedrooms. Common amenities will include a courtyard for students to gather, well-lit walkways and custom landscaping. CCS will construct the building incorporating brick and arches to compliment the existing architecture of the University.Hensley Lamkin Rachel Inc., is providing architectural design services, Pacheco Koch Consulting Engineers is providing surveying and site civil engineering services.
