Chicago Condo Development Breaks Ground
Named from the French word for Bishop, Eveq was designed by Sullivan Goulette & Wilson Architects and will feature 32 residences in the West Loop.
Boutique condominium development Eveq is now under construction in Chicago’s fast- growing West Loop neighborhood. Situated at 14 N. Bishop St., the 32-residence, five-story for-sale community is scheduled to deliver in 2020’s third quarter. Its name is a nod to the word “eveque,” the French word for Bishop. Eveq’s sponsor is Chicago Pipefitters Union Local 597, the site’s longtime owner.
Eveq will feature three- and four-bedroom floorplans extending in size from 1,500 to 2,300 square feet and priced from $810,000, with parking available from $25,000. Designed by Sullivan Goulette & Wilson Architects, features will include open floorplans, floor-to-ceiling windows and generously-sized outdoor spaces.
“The West Loop is the epicenter of new development in downtown Chicago, but new condos are in short supply,” Cyndy Salgado, executive vice president of development sales at @Properties, Eveq’s exclusive sales brokerage, told Multi-Housing News. “Eveq is meeting that demand with gracious floor plans and attractive price points that are highly desirable among buyers interested in this neighborhood, home to leading employers like Google and McDonald’s.”
Prime location
Features and finishes of homes include hardwood flooring throughout open kitchens, stainless steel Thermador and integrated Bosch appliances, porcelain tile shower and frameless glass door and large terrace or balcony off each residence’s living room.
Eveq’s location promises to be a prime selling point. It’s West Loop location gives owners quick access to the Illinois Medical District and both West Loop and Loop employers. Steps away are acclaimed dining, nightlife and entertainment. Nearby is the United Center, home to the Chicago Bulls and Chicago Blackhawks, and the Chicago Transit Authority’s Ashland-Lake station on the rapid transit system’s Green Line.
Eveq’s address east of Ogden Avenue, site of a considerable amount of new development, puts it at the forefront of new office, retail and residential development quickly advancing westward toward its location and beyond.
“Eveq is well-positioned to benefit from this continued investment and expansion as more jobs, and people move to the fast-growing neighborhood,” Salgado added. “The developers of Eveq have watched the area evolve into a vibrant and dynamic neighborhood. [They] recognized that the attractive location, paired with a quality, union-built development, would help fill a void by bringing much-needed for-sale housing to the West Loop.”
