Chicago-Area Senior Housing Community Opens
The property is the latest development from Resort Lifestyle Communities, which recently opened a senior housing project in Pittsburgh.
In its latest development, Resort Lifestyle Communities has opened Huntley Springs Retirement Resort, a 128-unit independent living community in Huntley, Ill., a northwestern suburb of Chicago. The opening comes on the heels of the Nebraska-based company opening Chartiers Bend Retirement Resort, a 128-unit senior living community in the Pittsburgh area, last month.
Huntley Springs was developed for adults aged 55 and over and offers a mix of studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartment layouts at a fixed, monthly price, including utilities and property services. The services include on-site staff, live-in managers, a 24/7 emergency call system, transportation to appointments, concierge services and valet parking.

Situated at 11700 Samantha Lane, the community’s design features a centrally located corridor for residents dubbed Main Street, which offers residents an in-house bank, business center, pharmacy, fitness center, game room, 150-seat theater, gift shop and a salon. Other all-inclusive amenities at Huntley Springs include a 24-hour chef’s pantry, a happy hour lounge, daily health and wellness programs, a dining room and dining program, social invitations and activities and a travel program.
With the number of Americans over 65 expected to double over the next 40 years, the senior housing industry is getting a lot of attention from multifamily investors and developers. A recent Marcus & Millichap report found that the U.S. population of those aged 75 and older is projected to grow by 5 million over the next five years. Demand for senior housing is being further fueled by soaring healthcare spending, which is projected to account for 20 percent of GDP by 2027, according to the report.
