Dallas–Castle Hills, a 2,500-acre master-planned community in Dallas, has won the 2011 Realtor’s Choice Community of the Year award by the Home Builders Association of Greater Dallas. The honor marks the second time that the property, developed by Bright Realty, has won HBA’s coveted award; the last time was in 2007.

Located  west of the Dallas North Tollway and Park Blvd. near Hwy. 121, the mixed-use golf-course community is home to both single-family and townhome residences. American Legends Homes is building the 20 new green townhomes, which are known as The Retreat Luxury Villas. The Villas are located in a gated enclave featuring a private park within walking distance to the master-planned community’s Villa Shops & Plaza, a one-acre site containing retail, dinning and office space, in addition to event space. Upon completion of the Villas, Castle Hills will feature an aggregate 28 townhomes.

“From a realtor’s standpoint, Castle Hills is sort of one-stop shopping for homebuyers,” Stasia Langford, a sales director with Bright Realty, tells MHN. “It is a very convenient place to show. Whatever buyers are looking for, we’ll have it.”

And the townhomes at Castle Hills are becoming increasingly popular. “A greater demographic of people are looking for convenience. They don’t want to have to deal with the maintenance issues that come with a large home. Across the board, we’re seeing more people ask for them. And Castle Hills is a very close-knit community. It’s a nice place to live no matter what stage of life you’re in–and people don’t leave.
