Carrfour Supportive Housing Debuts Miami Affordable Community
The fully affordable property will serve adults with severe mental health issues.

Carrfour Supportive Housing has opened Southwest Hammocks, a 100-unit fully affordable community in Miami, designed to serve adults with severe mental health issues.
The National Alliance on Mental Illness, together with Broward Behavioral Health Coalition, Foot Print to Success Clubhouse and South Florida Wellness Network, were also involved in developing the project.
The community is located on the Howard Forman Health Campus in Pembroke Pines, at 1398 SW First St. Downtown Miami is less than 3 miles east. Major thoroughfares in the area include interstates 95 and 395, as well as Florida State Road 968. Jackson Memorial Hospital and the UMHC outpatient facility are located 2 miles north.
Envisioned to break the cycle of homelessness, hospitalization and institutionalization, Southwest Hammocks’ amenities include intensive case management, life skills training, work-based recovery program and supported employment. The project also features holistic health and wellness programs, through partnerships with NAMI and South Florida Wellness.
Last month, another fully affordable development opened in Miami, at 2035 N. Miami Ave., some 3 miles northeast of Southwest Hammocks. Wynwood Works is a 120-unit, mixed-use development that came online as a public-private partnership led by the Omni Community Redevelopment Agency, Magellan Housing, Harmony Housing Affordable Development and the Udonis Haslem Foundation.
