CSH Stonegate at Greenburgh ext renderingCapitol Seniors Housing is starting construction on Stonegate at Greenburgh, an assisted living and memory care community in Greenburgh, N.Y., which is in Westchester County, north of New York City. The three-story community will have 101 units and be operated by Northbridge Cos.

Located at 715 Dobbs Ferry Rd., Stonegate at Greenburgh will be on the former site of Frank’s Nursery & Crafts that was acquired by the town of Greenburgh in a 2011 tax foreclosure. The community is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2019.

Common amenities will include a bistro featuring an open-concept kitchen area, club room, and library. There will also be a dining room, art studio, salon, multi-purpose room, sports lounge, fitness/rehab room and a separate dining room in the memory care area. Located on 6.89 acres, the community will also offer outdoor spaces such as walking paths and garden areas that can also be viewed through the community’s windows.

The Property Will Be LEED Certified

Designed by Meyer Design of Ardmore, Pa., the property will seek LEED certified status. Sustainable features will include green space to replace existing asphalt; the use of native plants that require less water; a 20 percent water use reduction through water-efficient fixtures, faucets and kitchen equipment; energy efficient LED lighting with robust control systems; and highly efficient heating and air systems.

The interior, also designed by Meyer, uses materials such as wood, wrought iron, copper and granite throughout the community on light fixtures, countertops and other spots. Interior colors will be a blend of calming blue, grey and earth tones. Artwork will include both modern works as well as vintage photographs that pay homage to Greenburgh’s history.
