CAMME Awards Honor Multifamily Innovation

By Teresa O’Dea Hein, Managing EditorChicago–The 16th annual Chicagoland Apartment Marketing and Management Excellence (CAMME) Awards were recently presented at the Chicago Hilton and Towers. The CAMME Awards are given by the Chicagoland Apartment Association (CAA), in conjunction with the Chicago Tribune and Apartments.com, to single out superior contributions and exemplary achievements in the area’s multifamily housing industry. The nearly 70 awards recognize achievement in a comprehensive array of categories, from curb appeal to community service programs, model units, floor plans, community amenities, leasing consultants, property managers and chief engineers/maintenance engineers. In each category, winners are selected in three different sub-categories: affordable, garden, and mid-rise/hi-rise. New this year is a category to recognize a Chief Engineer/Maintenance Supervisor at those three property types. A number of past winners repeated their outstanding performance this year, which is a testament to how the companies’ prepare their staffs for success by developing their professional skills, notes CAA Executive Vice President Judy Roettig. “Investing in your most important asset–your staff–pays off, and staffers appreciate that they’re being given the knowledge and tools they need to better do their jobs.” Roettig adds, “Now, more people understand how operations impacts the economic outcome.”Following are some of this year’s key CAMME award winners:COMMUNITY Affordable HighPoint Community Apartments Marquette Management Inc.
