California Faucets has unveiled a new line of faucet designs that pay homage to Art Deco, the eclectic design style of that began in Paris in the 1920s and quickly spread overseas. The company’s new collection features three different faucet designs each with their own blend of retro flare.
Huntington Beach, Calif.—California Faucets has unveiled a new line of faucet designs that pay homage to Art Deco, the eclectic design style of that began in Paris in the 1920s and quickly spread overseas. The company’s new collection features three different faucet designs, each with their own blend of retro flare. According to California Faucets, the designs “celebrate the essence of a time of prosperity and optimism in American history that spawned the Roaring Twenties and the art deco design movement.”
Classic Modern feature a low-arc spout design with a subtle contour that is inspired by the neoclassical architecture that largely influenced the onset of the Art Deco movement. This curvature serves to contrast the hexagonal handles that feature metal index buttons.
Empire Modern is aptly named after Manhattan’s Art Deco designed Chrysler Building. It has a tall, streamlined spout that achieves a counterbalance over the geometric handles.
Deco Moderne is a direct reflection of Cubist art. The spout and wide spread lever handles are curved to facets and planes that reflect light and images in an ‘avant-garde’ manner.
