New York—Chelsea, New York, is getting a little more luxurious—and New Yorkers are chomping at the bit. Carriage House Condominium, a new residential conversion (and former stable), has already sold eight of the property’s 24 units in four months on the market.

The building includes a mix of two-bedroom penthouses, duplex lofts, lofts, studio lofts and one-bedroom units that offer between nearly 556 and 1,100 square feet of space.

This is especially rare for a Chelsea condominium, because, according to Eric Gray of BMDG, one of the building’s developers, “most new development product is new construction with lots of glass and cookie cutter units.”

Additionally—and this is hard to come by in Manhattan—the building has eight parking spots available that can be purchased for $150 a month.

Gustavo Martinez, who left no detail to chance, designed interiors at the Carriage House. He included custom flower boxes with filigree fabricated by the makers of the famous LOVE sculpture on the West Side on the exterior of every floor.

Amenities include sub-zero refrigerators, Wolf oven cooktops, Italian cabinetry, mosaic tile floors in the bathrooms and personal washers and driers. There is also a part-time doorman and IP video intercom system in the lobby.

The Carriage House contains many of its original elements such as cast-iron columns, a limestone façade and exposed brick walls, “so that one feels like they are living in a loft,” Gray tells MHN.

“We wanted an end product that not only honors the property’s history, but also offers buyers modern conveniences and luxurious amenities,” Gray says in a press statement. “We believe that Carriage House is exactly what we were looking to accomplish—providing homeowners with a complete package including comfort, intimacy and charm.”
