New York—Brooklyn is getting greener. Warren Lewis Realty just announced preview sales for Jade 8, an environmentally friendly condominium in Gowanus, Brooklyn.

So what’s so green about Jade 8?

The building was developed with a builder with two LEED-certified Brooklyn developments to his credit. Jade 8 includes fresh air filtration systems via heat recovery ventilation (HRV), low VOC paint, LED lighting, energy-efficient windows and recycled materials such as the sound insulation.

Additionally, the building features a “green” roof that allows for drainage and cooling and a rain screen façade that insulates, ventilates and deflects moisture. In-unit heat pumps and A/C units provide residents with the option to purchase green energy, which results in a zero carbon footprint.

This building, which was designed by Sears-Tambasco Architects, contains eight units, with a mix of two-bedroom units, and one- and three-bedroom duplexes. Condos range in size from 905 to 1,475 square feet. Prices range from $725,000 to $1,150,000.

Being environmentally conscious is not the only benefit to Jade 8. The condominiums are also located in an exciting area of New York.

“Residents of Jade 8 will enjoy all of Brooklyn’s unique and exciting appeal, including a vibrant selection of galleries and restaurants and the classic urban feel of a factory-filled neighborhood reclaimed by entrepreneurs and artists,” Virginia Hunter, VP, associate broker at Warren Lewis Realty, says in a press statement.

The official grand opening of Jade 8 is scheduled for January.
