Bozzuto Construction Begins Work on New DC Development

Washington, D.C.—Bozzuto Construction has announced that it has commenced site work on a $42 million condominium development at V Street NW and 15^th Street NW in the popular U Street Corridor of Washington, D.C.

The V Street development is to be a nine-story structure with 96 condominiums in a mix of studios, one- and two-bedroom floor plans. The development is a joint venture involving Bozzuto Homes and NVCommercial Real Estate Fund I.

The community is the second property in Washington, D.C., that Bozzuto Construction has begun in 2014, following its groundbreaking earlier this year on 460 New York Avenue. That project, a high-rise condominium community with a total of 63 units, is located in D.C.’s Mount Vernon Triangle neighborhood.

The project team on this development features Greenbelt, Md.-based general contractor Bozzuto Construction Company, WDG Architecture, Metropolitan Engineering, Inc., SK&A Engineers and Wiles Mench Corporation.

The building tower of the V Street development is to be constructed with a concrete frame. The tower’s façade will be clad in masonry and large spanning windows. Among the common-area amenities of the development will be a community lounge, meeting room, ground-level patio, rooftop deck, storage closets, ample bicycle storage and parking garage featuring 37 parking spaces.

The development’s luxury residences will incorporate such features as European-style cabinets, quartz countertops and wood flooring. In addition, many units will offer floor-to-ceiling windows as well as balconies.

The U Street Corridor, a nine-block stretch of U Street in northwest Washington, D.C., features a diverse assortment of retailers, restaurants, art galleries, jazz venues and nightclubs, and is served by the U Street Metro Station. The Greater U Street Historic District is on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

The V Street development is expected complete in late 2015.
